Dear Dance Artist,
The 2010 CDF Community Council invites you to participate in the 14th Annual Celebrate Dance Festival to be held August 27-29, 2010 in beautiful Balboa Park. This year’s community collaboration consists of three days of free performances and workshops indoors in the 660-seat Casa Del Prado Theater and outdoors upon the Fountain Stage. The Dance Information Center, with a photo gallery of participating artists, will continue to be a great hub for the exchange of information regarding participant programs and upcoming seasons/ performances. More than 50,000 people visit the park on a nice summer day...this means great potential for exposure to new audiences.
Something New…
Celebrate Dance Festival is evolving into a community-driven event, and as such, participants will be acknowledged as Community Co-Producers of the festival. We all have a hand in creating and sustaining this asset to the regional dance community!
Things to know…
- The maximum performance/ workshop length at either venue is 30 minutes. Note: Workshops are available on the outdoor stage only and must be included in the same 30 minute slot as your performance.
- The co-production contribution is $150.00 or $50.00 + 2 volunteer hours prior to or during the festival weekend. The Co-Production Contribution Form provides more details on how this works.
- All other logistics are covered throughout the application. If you have questions don’t hesitate to contact the Event Coordinator, Molly Terbovich, at 619.436.9901 or e-mail celebratersvp@gmail.com.
If you are interested in performing please return a completed application (a checklist is provided for quick reference) ASAP! In the spirit of celebrating dance in San Diego, we sincerely hope you will consider joining us.
Warmly,
The 2010 CDF Community Council
